My Father's Son

The life of being a boy
I miss those days of joy
When I had my nice toys
When I also had my boys
The years I lived to enjoy
And life would never annoy
Never hurry to be employed
Not worry of being destroyed
When we'd smile every day
Always having jokes to say
Kicking stones on the way
Loving church on Sundays
Enjoying school on Fridays
Looking forward to holidays
Dancing out on rainy days
Dividing my book of math
Imagining my future path
Taming down inner wrath
Attempting to be psychopath
Admiring the cute girls we see
Laughing out loud feeling free
Eating chapatti under the tree
Finding it so easy to just agree
Competing on the highest pee
Not bothered about a degree
Scared of rules they'd decree
Thinking when I'll be mature
Discovering more of nature
Operating insects I capture
Playing pretend with picture
Wondering about my future.

I miss being a teenage boy
Having great plans to deploy
Trying everyday just to fit in
Wishing I be like the cool kids
Emotions erupting from within
Crushing on the beautiful girls
Tearing chits into the dustbin
Cramming my best song lyrics
Flexing to buy stuff at canteen
Conversing about our great films
Judging prefects who were mean
Having uniforms worn on routines
Fitting the trousers to look slim
Giving nicknames to each other
Praying to never be a teacher
Breaking rules as adventurers
Admiring boys with partners
Trying to be football players
Reading so we not repeaters
Dozing in the morning preps
Copying notes in night preps
Moving in groups to the toilet
Arguing with any other we met
Respecting elders as we greet
Wanting best shoe for my feet
Believing I'll never suffer defeat
Dreaming of one day being great

I used to want to get older
But now I wish I was younger
I used to be my father's son
But I'm a man under the sun
From a boy I'm a youth man
Holding a great future to plan
Praying to get a good woman
Discovering more of my clan
Searching for my best ability
Exploring more of personality
Looking for a job opportunity
Wondering my true identity
Praying I live with integrity
Preserving my life's dignity
Fulfilling my meant priority
Believing I'll be legendary
Aspiring to be exemplary,
Now that I'm all grown up
My mind has sobered up
I treasure what I've found
And utilise time going round
I keep good company around
Hoping I make everyone proud
But I make mistakes on ground,
I sincerely miss being younger
I miss being a son of my father.

The Guardians

The people that gave me life I choose to celebrate your life I haven't been open so often But ride along, recite this poem. From the first tear that I shed To the very first fear I ever had You would heal me from inside With every simple word you said, For every kind of bill you paid Every type of brick that was laid Every bed of mine that you laid Being like my personal maid I sincerely and fully appreciate. All effort of the two of you Puts a honest smile on my face, At times agile and on my case I belittled you and frowned my face But you modeled me into this vase You amended and gave me a base You helped me find dreams to chase And you prepared me to win my race Taught me how to tie my shoelace Loved for me to feel your embrace Fought for me to deserve a place Prayed for me to always be blessed Organized me and what I messed Talked to me and taught me lessons Sought for me to always blossom Loved me with care and affection Looked out for me with protection Did a lot that I may ...

Love At First Sight

It was a really aimless day Til i saw her that day Her friends had gone She was sitting all alone Busy staring at her phone Like she's stuck and static Like she'd lost all her magic It made me feel empathetic But she still looked stunning I really felt like  approaching My emotions were spiking She had a gorgeous physic Like some marvelous mystic She had worn a fabulous fabric She looked cool so effortlessly Skin looked smooth seamlessly All in all looked good flawlessly So I decided to get up my chair But I guess my fate was unfair She was already part of a pair For she was waiting for her date Whom I guess was running late My heart dropped at a fast rate When he sat right next to her My eyes straight looking at her Still mesmerised at sight of her Her face had such a stunning glow My heartbeat was hitting like a blow I hoped we'd have a flow But i was dying on the low I later slowly took my seat I had to accept my defeat And catch up my heartbeat Then i heard somebody gre...

Prayer Full Poem

You don't need to kneel Or stamp on your heels It starts from your heart That feeds on your thoughts Your spirit news the mind On the words it receives Are you the curious kind On everything you perceive? Don't beg when you pray Stop repeating what you say But in your time of secret As you humble yourself Believe you have received And you'll surely have them It's like a deep well of faith And your bucket is the hope Which is willing to receive, First believe in the true God Then seek divine wisdom So you stop pushing on doors To which you hold the lock's key. Ignorance leads to death Knowledge preserves life, If you're not wise enough to learn how to swim The day that you'll drown Is the day you may die. Know how to swim before diving in Know how to pray before you kneel Learn how to get your results from prayer Before you blame God for not being there. Humble yourself before Him That you may be exalted Pray your faith never fails And you may not be tempted ...
